Yahoo Directory: At $299 a year for a review, many companies shy away from this directory. However the simple fact is it’s one of the more important signals of quality used by search engines. In fact it’s one of the few directories specifically mentioned in Google’s Webmaster Guidelines, I submit all of my serious projects to the Yahoo directory.
RegisterLocal.com: Instead of spending time trying to maintain all of your information on different systems useRegisterLocal.com. For $199 a year and with only one master username and password you can make sure your information is correct all across the web.
TrueLocal.com: Get listed in TrueLocal.com for as little as $5 a month ($60 a year). TrueLocal only accepts listings from business with a brick and mortar presence, so aren’t competing against nationwide websites who don’t have a physical storefront.
Email your Existing Customers: Send out an email newsletter to all of your customers at least once a month. Constant Contact has a simple easy to use system (see Constant Contact Review). It’s free for the first 60 days and free if you have less than 500 people on your mailing list its $15 a month ($180 year).
